Knives and the law

It is important to note that the use of hunting knives in the United Kingdom is subject to legal regulations. The possession and carrying of knives, including hunting knives, are governed by strict laws aimed at public safety and prevention of violent incidents.

The Criminal Justice Act 1988 and the Offensive Weapons Act 2019 outline specific restrictions on the types of knives that can be owned or carried in public places. It is crucial for individuals to familiarize themselves with these laws and adhere to them to avoid any legal consequences.

Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the use of hunting knives should always be conducted in an ethical and responsible manner. Hunters in the United Kingdom are expected to adhere to wildlife conservation laws and ethical hunting practices, ensuring the sustainable management of wildlife populations and the preservation of natural habitats.

Introducing John Moore

John Moore, born and raised in Sheffield, has had a lifelong passion for knives. However, it was when he began hunting at the age of 13 that his interest in knives truly gained purpose.

Initially, John started hunting rabbits using ferrets, and he expanded his hunting endeavors to include ratting. Upon acquiring his first terrier, he ventured into foxing and has since owned lurchers for activities such as ferreting and lamping.

During childhood excursions, John always kept a knife in his pocket, gradually honing his understanding of the specific requirements that a knife should meet for various purposes while out in the field.

Currently, John eagerly engages in shooting and deer stalking as frequently as possible, ensuring that he always carries a trusty knife in his pocket, which remains a constant companion.
